Shuffle and Synopsis Challenge

Scary Monsters / Super Creeps

Starring: Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, and Ray Winstone.

Hard-working construction labourer Lou (Ray Winstone) doesn’t get to see his little girl much anymore. Bethanne (his ex-wife, Sadie Frost) has relocated to London with her new husband (Rick, played by Jude Law),  taking eleven-year-old Stella with her.

Lou knows Bethanne is trying to turn Stella against him with lies, but he doesn’t realize just bad it’s become until Lou finally gets Stella all to himself for the summer.

Stella, once a bright and chatty little girl, has become sullen. She doesn’t want to play or talk.  She doesn’t listen to music or use the computer. She’d rather stay locked in her room, seemingly silent.

Lou thinks Stella has fallen for her mother’s lies and tries hard to get her to open up to him again like she did when she was small.  Then an incident with a “fortune teller” at a fun fair causes all hell to break loose. Literally.

Lou enlists the help of two paranormal investigators, Robert Parker (Jonny Lee Miller) and Harrison Long (Ewan McGregor). Together, they rescue the girl and find the source of evil.

SPOILERS: it’s the mother. Jude Law intentionally married her and moved her away in an attempt to thwart her plans.

About

"According to a 2004 New York Times article on the subject, this particular baleen whale has apparently been tracked by NOAA since 1992, using a 'classified array of hydrophones employed by the Navy to monitor enemy submarines.' It sings at 52 Hertz, which is roughly the same frequency as the lowest note on a tuba, and much higher than its fellow whales, whose calls fall in the 15 to 25 Hertz range.

"Not only does it sing too high, it also fails to travel along any known migration route of any baleen whale species -- so other whales can't hear it, and they don't run into it along migration paths.

"She's lonely because no one else can hear her."
